The Trump administration has requested that Congress approve an additional $58 million to boost security for members of the executive and judicial branches following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

House Speaker Mike Johnson previously said congressional leaders were reviewing member security. U.S. Capitol Police told ABC News that the department expects to track “roughly” 14,000 threats to lawmakers by the end of 2025.
