He was the medic who helped save her life… and now, he’s the hero who keeps showing up.

When Adriana was badly hurt in a lawn mower accident earlier this year, Ricky Powell was the lead medic on scene.
He stayed calm, kind, and helped get her the urgent care she needed in those scary first moments.

But Ricky didn’t stop there.

On her first day back to school, he showed up again—this time with flowers, gifts from the Douglas County Fire/EMS Department, and the biggest smile.
When Adriana saw him, her face lit up and she skipped right toward him!

In one of the hardest moments of her young life, Ricky made sure she felt safe, cared for, and never alone.
Now, he’s become a special part of her healing too.
